The TeamworkIQ App for Zapier enables you to automatically attach files as part of its Update Form Data action. However, this action requires that the file object is already available from a previous step in the Zap or is available from a public or temporary URL from which the file may be retrieved.
That all works well unless the action from which you are getting the file returns that file as a Base64 encoded string. If the file you need is provided to you in Base64 format, then you'll need to convert that file from Base64 format into an actual file object first. When you do, you'll be able to map to the resulting file object into the next steps in your Zap.
To convert the Base64 encoded file data into a File object that's available to the next steps in your Zap:
Add an Action to your Zap selecting the TeamworkIQ App for Zapier and its Convert Base64 Data into a File action.
Map the Base64 data you received from an earlier step in your Zap into the Base64 Data field in the Action.
Set the Mime Type for the file. For example if the data represents a JPEG image, then use the mime type: image/jpeg or image/jpg. If the data represents a PDF, then use the mime type: application/pdf. If you need to find the right mime type for your file, search the web for "mime type for " and the name of the type of file you need.
Next, specify the File Name and Extension. Set the file name to what every you like but make sure to use the a file extension that correlates to the mime type. For example my_image.jpeg or my_image.jpg or my_document.pdf.
